Transient pushes woman into Times Square subway tracks

On January 15, 2022, at approximately 9:30 am while waiting for an R train at the Time Square-42nd Street subway station, the 40-year-old victim (Michelle Go), was pushed from behind onto the tracks into the path of the oncoming R train and was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect, transient 61-year-old Martial Simon, fled the scene as was later arrested for 2nd degree murder at approximately 9:53am after he walked into a transit precinct on Canal Street and declared that he had pushed a woman in front of a train.

Simon, a former taxi driver from Haiti, had previous convictions for attempted robbery in 1999 and 2019, and had a warrant out for violating parole.
